WHY REPLACE MISSING TEETH?
When teeth are prematurely lost and not replaced, adjacent teeth can shift into the
vacant spaces, causing many undesirable consequences, such as:
1) changes in the bite, impairing chewing and creating stress on other teeth and the
jaw
2) cheeks sinking in, with a change in facial appearance
3) increased plaque build-up, increasing the risk of decay and gum disease
With today's modern dentistry, more and more people are able to hold onto all their
teeth their entire life! But in the cases where teeth cannot be saved and must be
extracted, Drs. Riesner, Black, & Bass offer many practical alternatives, such as:

| Crown and Bridge Treatment ?

Crowns (caps) and bridges are made of porcelain, with or
without a metal substructure, and are made to look just like your natural teeth in every
way. Crowns cover badly broken down or decayed (but still salvageable) single teeth, while
bridges replace missing teeth between existing natural teeth, by attaching to the existing
teeth. Bridges are best for people who are missing only a few natural teeth.

| Implant Supported Bridgework ?

Implants are artificial tooth roots which are surgically placed
in the jawbone, and can be used to replace a single lost tooth, support one or both ends
of a bridge, or even support a denture. Dr. Riesner, Bass, or Black will be more than
happy to discuss the many treatment options available to you with implants.

| Full and Partial Dentures ?

Full Dentures are sets of artificial teeth that rest directly
on the gums, and are for patients who have lost all of their upper and/or lower teeth,
where implants are not a viable solution.
Partial Dentures are for people with multiple teeth missing,
and whose remaining natural teeth are not strong enough to support bridgework.
