The Department of Biological Sciences of the Chonnam National University consists of a group of dedicated faculty (9 professors, 5 adjunct professors, and teaching faculty) and support staff.
We offers undergraduate and graduate studies leading to Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in biological sciences. Faculty and students of our Department are engaged in world-class research. The research fields of our Department are biochemistry, biotechnology, mycology, industrial microbiology, molecular immunology, cell and molecular biology, plant physiology, taxonomy, toxicology, ecology, restoration ecology, economic botany and phycology.
There are eleven teaching laboratories fully equipped for the pursuit of developing a practical knowledge of above fields.
It is our goal to bring these research tools into the classroom, so as to give students the practical experience needed for a career in biological sciences.
Graduating students of our Department can find a wide range of career opportunities including the medical school, school of dentistry, medical professions, academic and industrial research and teaching positions, and government positions.
